Shamrock Rovers European play-off due for live coverage with 3,500 supporters set for Tallaght
Both legs of Shamrock Rovers’ UEFA Europa Conference League play-off tie against Estonian Champions Flora Tallinn will be shown live on domestic Irish television and 3,500 fans will be allowed attend the home leg in Tallaght.
Rovers confirmed that 'the capacity for our UEFA Europa Conference League Qualifying Play-Off Round second leg on Thursday August 26th is confirmed at 3,500.'
The statement noted:
'The game will be part of a test event series with reduced social distancing of 1 metre. We would like to thank the Department of Sport and the Public Health Authorities for granting us permission to hold the test event at Tallaght Stadium with the reduced social distancing and the support of the FAI in the application.'
The first leg which is set for the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn this Thursday, with a 5pm kick-off time in Ireland, will be broadcast live on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
The home leg in Tallaght Stadium a week later will have a 7.45pm kick off and will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
These matches will be the first European ties involving League of Ireland sides to be shown on domestic TV this season.
Only individual streaming options have been available if supporters have wanted to watch the game on TV/online.
UEFA have banned away fans from attending games in the qualifying stages of this year’s club competitions due to COVID-19.
