Galway made the mid-week trip to Lissywollen to take on Athlone Town on Tuesday evening with the Tribeswomen running out 2-1 winners in the Women's National League.

Chloe Singleton opened the scoring for Stephen Lally's side with Lucy Jane Grant scoring a beautiful free-kick for the home side in the second half, but the visitors would claim all three points when Anna Fahey headed the winning goal in the 86th minute.
