The Premier Division Final Day
The final day of the 2009 League of Ireland Premier Division has arrived. After 175 games, over 262 hours of football, we approach the final hurdle. Had Aaron Greene not netted in the 66th minute last week, the title would have come down to the wire, but it was not to be, and now Bohemians can relax knowing only the most improbable scenario will halt their crossing the finish line champions re-elected.
Their hosts Bray Wanderers are relegated, and will depart the top tier of League of Ireland football watching the Gypsies lift the league trophy. Drogheda United also know their fate going into this final round. They will be the visitors to one of a possible three teams in the Premier Division playoff game.
St. Pat’s and Sligo Rovers sit on 40 points. Galway United on 41. This is where the drama will lie on Friday night. Any one of them could find themselves with an unwanted fixture after the 6th November. Who will it be? Who do you want it to be? The only thing for certain is Extratime will be here with all the action as we follow all five games on our Extratime match tracker.
