Colin Healy: 'From a Cork City point of view, we're disappointed we did not get the three points'
Colin Healy lamented Cork City’s lack of control after a 90th minute equalizer earned Galway United a 1-1 draw at Turner’s Cross on Friday evening.
A spectacular strike from Jack Baxter with ten minutes remaining looked to have given City the three points, but Maurice Nugent scored at close range in the final moments of normal time to salvage a point for the Tribesmen.
“I don’t think we controlled the game in the second half,” the City boss said. “Especially with Galway down to ten men. We didn’t control the game.
“We have away silly possession which allowed them back into the game. Galway are dangerous on set plays.
“We have away silly free kicks from wide areas. We have away a throw in, then didn’t deal with it and they scored from it.
“From a Cork City point of view, we are disappointed we did not get the three points.”
The point means that City extended their unbeaten run to four games. While this record may appear great for the club, the Rebel Army have only won two games all season.
“We lost four in a row and now we are picking up points,” Healy said, “We’re a young team and the boys are giving everything.
“We want to focus on one game at a time. We’re away to Cobh now next Friday night. If we can go and get the three points, we will move on to the next game.
“There’s loads of games left, and we need to build on tonight.”
