Declan Devine leaves Derry City by mutual consent
Premier Division Derry City have confirmed the departure of manager Declan Devine by mutual consent.
The Candystripes confirmed the exit of Devine who had been at the club since the start of the 2019 season.
He was previously in charge of Derry from 2012-2014 – during a spell when the club won the FAI Cup.
During his second spell in charge of the club, the 47-year-old secured European qualification in 2019 and reached the EA Sports Cup Final in that year as well.
During the 2020 season – Derry struggled for form and consistency at times – and came 7th, confirming survival on the final day.
“Derry City FC and Declan Devine have parted company by mutual consent,” a statement from the Foylesiders chairman Philip O’Doherty read this morning.
“The Board wish to thank Declan for his service to the Club and wish him well for the future.”
