League Preview: Bohemians -v- Sligo Rovers

BOHEMIANS

Bohemians will look to make it three wins on the bounce when they welcome joint league leaders Sligo Rovers to Dalymount Park on Tuesday evening (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

Bohs have recovered from a slow start to the season by notching up back-to-back 1-0 away wins against Dundalk and Waterford to move up to sixth in the Premier Division.

Keith Long has been full of praise for the high-flying visitors ahead of Tuesday’s game.

“Sligo have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, have looked very impressive so far this campaign and will come to Dalymount with confidence.”

On the injury front, Andy Lyons (hamstring) and Bastien Héry (ankle) are likely to be absent from the game.

Stephen Mallon returned to training last week but a return to action is too far away.

SLIGO ROVERS

The Bit O’Red travel to Dalymount full of confidence with only goal difference preventing them from sitting at the summit of the Premier Division.

Johnny Kenny scored his first goal for the club to give Liam Buckley’s side a narrow 1-0 win at home to Finn Harps on Saturday.

Danny Kane and Shane Blaney will be absent from the game on Tuesday.

Liam Buckley has spoken about rest and recovery in between Saturday and Tuesday: “Not a lot of time has passed since Saturday so the time in between has been about recovery and preparation.

“I think it’s a difficult game for both sides and we’re looking forward to it. Both of us have had transition periods at the start of this season.”

Referee: Ben Connolly.

MATCH STATS

Rovers’ last win away to Bohs came in 2019 when Romeo Parkes scored twice.

Sligo have just four survivors from the XI that started in Dalymount 14 months ago.
