Laura Ryan signs for Athlone Town
Athlone Town have announced the signing of Laura Ryan who comes to the club with a record of high achievement in football but also in gaelic games.
Laura stared playing football at underage level with Lifford Ladies in Ennis winning underage titles with them before going on represent Munster Schools where she won Schools All Ireland titles.
She has won multiple Senior Limerick League and Cup titles with Lifford, represented Limerick in the Gaynor Cup (FAI All Ireland Women’s Underage Competition) and also won an intervarsity shield while playing with University of Limerick.
Laura comes to Athlone Town with an equally impressive GAA record, having won 11 Club County Championships and league titles, four college All Ireland titles, two All Star College awards, LGFA All Star nomination, WGPA Young Leader of the year 2017 award and LGFA team of the league
She was in in the Athlone squad for their preseason game against Peamount Utd last Friday and will also be involved in their final two preseason games against Bohemians on Sunday 14 March and Cork City WFC on Saturday 20 March.
