Jamie McGrath and Dylan Connolly shone for St Mirren as they inflicted further misery on Celtic with a 2-1 win at Celtic Park.

The former Dundalk pair starred leapfrogged Dundee United into the top half of the table, with Connolly bagging an assist for Kristian Dennis’ 18th-minute opener.

Odsonne Édouard drew the home side level midway through the first half but Ilkay Durmis’ goal eight minutes before half time proved the winner.

It’s the Saints’ first win over Celtic in eight years and their first win at Celtic Park since 1990 as Jim Goodwin’s side made it back-to-back away wins.

The result leaves Celtic 23 points shy of league leaders Rangers, albeit with two games in hand, and will put further pressure on under-fire boss Neil Lennon.

Joe Shaughenessy captained the side from centre-half, alongside former Cork City man Conor McCarthy, while Jake Doyle-Hayes was introduced on the hour.

Shane Duffy retained his starting position for the fifth straight game but endured another torrid afternoon as he was beaten to ball by Durmis for the winning goal.

Elsewhere, St Johnstone fought back from 2-0 down at half-time edged out Kilmarnock in a five-goal thriller at Rugby Park.

Killie, for whom Alan Power played 90 minutes, led 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Chris Burke and Aaron Tshibola.

Goals from Guy Melamed and Murray Davidson levelled things up before Northern Ireland international Ali McCann completed the turnaround.

Tommie Hoban and Johnny Hayes both started for Aberdeen as they held in-form Livingston, for whom Jaze Kabia was an unused sub, to a 0-0 draw.

And Mark Connolly played 90 minutes for Dundee United as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Hibernians.
