Kearney fit for Setanta clash

Cork winger Liam Kearney had to leave the action early on Friday night after falling awkwardly on his right arm. Initially it was feared he had broken a bone in his wrist or hand.

Along with some other City players Kearney attended Cobhs game on Saturday night against Shamrock Rovers. Extratime.ie caught up with him and asked him about his injury - " Yeah first thoughts was it was broken but luckily not, it was swollen very badly last night night but as you can see its fine now"

Cork play Cliftonville on Monday night in the Setanta Cup and Kearney is available for action if called upon - " It will be fine for Monday night - if I'm selected!".

Kearney has arguably been City's most consistent performer this season. While he doesnt seem to take on and beat his man as frequently as he once did, his all round game has improved and changed somewhat from his first spell at the club. This season in particular, as opposed to hugging the touchline, he tends to drift infield a lot and has a good knack for finding space. Kearney has started all six league games this season as well as both Setanta Cup games.

Kick Off on Monday night against Cliftonville at Turners Cross is at 19.45

As always Extratime.ie will bring you the starting line ups as soon as they are available and will also be keeping an eye out for any goals or major incidents.
