The Shamrock Rovers II captain from last season Darragh Nugent and his teammate Max Murphy are stepping up into the first team squad.
Both 19-year-olds old, Nugent didn’t miss a match for Rovers’ First Division side and also made three substitute appearances with Rovers’ first team while Murphy played 15 games for Aidan Price’s Rovers II side scoring two goals.
It is understood that both Aaron Bolger and Sean Brennan who were on loan with Rovers’ First Division team last year have returned to their parent clubs Cardiff City and Southampton respectively. Bolger made 11 appearances with Brennan playing in all bar one of Rovers’ First Division games.
Hoops Head Coach Stephen Bradley has already added Danny Mandroiu (Bohemians), Sean Hoare and Sean Gannon (both from Dundalk) and Chris McCann (Oldham Athletic) to his league winning squad.
Players who have left the club include Sean Callan (Bray), Greg Bolger (Sligo Rovers), Rhys Marshall (Glentoran), Danny Lafferty (Derry City), Thomas Oluwa (Bohemians) and Jack Byrne who made his debut with Apoel Nicosia off the bench in their 2-1 loss to Doxa.
