Jonny Evans signs new deal with Premier League Leicester City
Jonny Evans has signed a contract extension at Leicester City, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2023.
The 32-year-old has been a mainstay at centre back since his arrival in 2018, making 89 appearances for the Foxes.
The experienced central defender has enjoyed a glittering career at the top level, making 309 Premier League appearances to date.
The Belfast native came through the ranks at Manchester United making 196 appearances, winning three Premier Leagues, two league cups, one FIFA Club World Cup and four Community Shields. He has also enjoyed spells at Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.
The Northern Irish international has earned 88 caps for his country, playing in all four games in Northern Ireland’s maiden European Championships in 2016 as they made it to the last 16.
Evans has made 15 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ charges this season as they look to keep pace with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League and progress in the Europa League.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Evans said: “I’m delighted to commit myself to the club, I’ve loved it here since the first day I came in, it’s a club with a lot of ambition.”
