Hoops transfer from Rovers to Rangers - Shamrock Rovers striker Sinclair Armstrong signs for QPR
Shamrock Rovers have confirmed the transfer of 17-year-old striker Sinclair Armstrong to Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
The player made six appearance for Rovers’ First Division side this season - two starts and four appearances off bench.
He signed for the Hoops in 2017 and was top scorer with the Rovers under-15 side that was then managed by Damien Duff.
He made his debut with Rovers’ first team as a 15-year-old substitute in August 2018 in the FAI Cup away to Drogheda United - that was his only appearance with Stephen Bradley’s side.
He scored the opening goal in the Rovers under-19 side’s 4-1 win last November’s over Bohemians in the Enda McGuill Under-19 Cup final played in Dalymount Park.
The Irish Independent previously reported that the Ireland under-17 international was on trial with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in February this year but has now signed to be part of QPR’s under-18 team managed by former Chelsea, Birmingham and QPR player Paul Furlong.
