Former Derry City striker David Parkhouse joins Hartlepool on loan from Sheffield United
Northern Ireland under 21 striker David Parkhouse has joined Hartlepool United on loan from Sheffield United until January 2021.
The striker spent the 2019 campaign on loan at League of Ireland side Derry City.
He then went on loan to League Two side Stevenage for the second half of the 2019/20 season before the coronavirus pandemic ended the season with immediate effect.
During his time at the Candystripes he scored 19 goals in 39 appearances and helped the Brandywell side qualify for the Europa League.
Parkhouse was also named in the PFAI Premier Division team of the year.
Last Friday he was amongst the goals for Northern Ireland Under-21's as they beat Malta 2-0 away from home in the Euro 2021 Under-21 Championship qualifier.
“We are delighted to get David in," said Pools Manager Dave Challinor.
"It is somewhere on the pitch we have been looking to strengthen and he provides us just that. He is a goal scorer and a U21 international so I believe he can do very well in this league.”
Pakhouse added: "After seeing the Vic, I am even more excited than I ever was. This is a huge club and I want to come in, score goals and help the side as best I can.”
Hartlepool United start their season on Saturday, October 3rd with a home game against Aldershot Town.
