Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O’Neill was delighted how his team performed in the second half against Bray Wanderers on Saturday night after coming from a goal down to eventually win out 3-1.

“We had enough chances to be level, if not in front in the first half but we didn't take them. In the second half, it was good to score as early as we did, we played some good excellent stuff and I’m delighted to have won because we thought it wouldn't be easy and that proved the case. I think we're going to have to show a lot of character between now and the end of the season.”

The win moves the Tallaght side to within a point of Dublin rivals Bohemians and O’Neill was quick to praise the man that has helped get the team into that position, the league’s top goalscorer Gary Twigg.

“Two good goals, the second in particular was a fantastic finish. He's happy to get back on the pitch tonight after not being able to take part on Tuesday and I'm delighted for him. He proved his worth to the team tonight.”

Next game for Shamrock Rovers will be a tricky away clash against Sligo Rovers on Saturday whilst Bray Wanderers will be hoping to move off the bottom of the table with a win over Drogheda United in the Carlisle Grounds on Friday.
