Scottish Premiership Round-up: Rangers go top as Hibs and Ross County maintain unbeaten records
Rangers occupy first place in the Scottish Premiership table for the first time since 20th October 2019, after a resounding 3-0 victory over St. Johnstone on Wednesday night.
Goals from Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Joe Aribo moved Rangers above Hibernian on goal difference.
However Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was left unsatisfied with his team, labelling the performance after his side scored their third goal as ‘sloppy’.
“As a team I just thought we let the game die off, and our standards certainly dropped at three nil," Gerrard told the press after the win.
Hibs had claimed all three points in their clash away to Dundee United on Tuesday night thanks to a strike from Christian Doidge in the second half.
Celtic’s trip to St. Mirren and the clash between Aberdeen and Hamilton had been postponed due to breaches of coronavirus restrictions.
There were 2-2 draws in the other two matches that were unaffected by coronavirus concerns.
Ross County maintained their unbeaten record thanks to a late penalty against Kilmarnock, while Motherwell were held at home by Livingston.
