Mendilibar extends his contract with Eibar
José Luis Mendilibar has extended his contract as Eibar manager by one season.
The Gipuzkoan will remain with the La Liga club for his sixth successive season and seventh season in total.
Mendilibar first managed the club in 2004 while they played in the Segunda División.
He left in 2005 for an unsuccessful stint with Athletic Bilbao in 2005 before moving to Real Valladolid. He returned in 2015 and has been an ever prominent figure at the club since.
Separately the club have chosen not to renew the contracts of Pablo de Blasis and Charles Dias, while it has also emerged the club will not purchase Sebastián Cristóforo. The Uruguayan midfielder has been on loan at the Basque club but will now return to Fiorentina.
The 2020-21 season will be Eibar’s seventh in La Liga following their first promotion in 2014.
