Jack Doherty signs back with Wexford
Wexford FC today announced the re-signing of attacker Jack Doherty for the 2020 season.
The former Ipswich, Waterford and Limerick man is no stranger to Ferrycarrig Park having enjoyed a decent spell at the south-east club in the first half of the 2019 season.
He scored six goals in eighteen appearances, before moving to Longford Town for the remainder of the season.
Wexford manager Brian O’Sullivan revealed his delight at the recapture of the Carrick-on-Suir man: “Getting Jack back is a great signing, he gives you real quality in the final third with his passing and ability to go by players.
“I am really looking forward to seeing how he links up with the rest of our attack for the rest of the season.”
With only two points after the first three games of the season before the enforced break, O’Sullivan is keen to add some attacking power to the squad: “There is more competition in the squad now, and I think with more additions to come we will be a lot stronger.
“The first three games defensively we were excellent and we did create chances but we just weren't scoring.”
Wexford return to action this Friday, July 31 against Athlone Town in Lissywoolen however a slight injury means Doherty remains a doubt.
