Brian Maher leaves St. Pats by mutual consent
Goalkeeper Brian Maher has left St. Patrick’s Athletic by mutual consent, the club has confirmed.
Maher made just two league appearances for the Saints in 2019 and hadn’t made any in 2020.
The Dubliner previously played with Raheny United and St. Kevin’s Boys, and has also represented the Republic of Ireland on several occasions at underage level.
He made appearances at the 2017 UEFA Under-17 Championship and the 2019 UEFA Under-19 Championship, reaching the knockout stages with Ireland on both occasions.
A statement on the St. Patrick’s website thanked Maher for his service to the club and wished him well for the future.
Newly signed Conor Kearns is likely to continue as the Saints’ second-choice keeper behind Brendan Clarke.
