Warrenpoint Town sign former Cabinteely and Saints midfielder Steven Ball
The 22-year-old Dubliner Steven Ball brings plenty of experience to Warrenpoint for a player of his age.
He came through the underage ranks at St. Patrick’s Athletic and also spent 18 months playing under Pat Devlin at Cabinteely during the 2017 and 2018 SSE Airtricity League campaigns.
The left sided defender who can also play in midfield and he will join up with striker Ryan Swan who he would have also played with during his Cabo days - while other ex-LOI talent up north include the likes of Kealan Dillon and Colm Deasy.
Warrenpoint manager Barry Gray gave his thoughts on his latest recruits shortly after the announcement.
“Steven joins us in a bid to kick start his senior career at the top level,” Gray told warrenpointtownfc.co.uk. “Steven is very hungry to get stuck in and make a name for himself.”
Gray is hopeful that the introduction of Ball into his side can help make his side a more exciting watch.
“He has plenty of quality, athleticism, and drive to succeed and we are all quite excited to see what he can bring to the panel this year.”
Ball joins the likes of Luke Gallagher and Colm Carney who have also made the move to Milltown in recent weeks.
