Sligo Rovers -v- Bohemians
Sligo Rovers welcome Bohemians to the Showgrounds on Tuesday night for the replay of their FAI Ford Cup Quarter final clash. (kick-off 7:45pm). The two sides met exactly two weeks previously at the venue, that time in the league, and the home side emerged the surprise victors thanks to a 19th minute Alan Keane penalty.
Speaking to Extratime.ie after the 0-0 draw on Friday night, Sligo manager Paul Cook was quick to point out Gavin Peers influence on his team.
“We have been without Gavin for four months and we haven’t got the depth to our squad. When you have players like Gavin in your team you are strong and when you don’t then you’re not (strong), so it’s as simple as that.”
Alan Keane returns after missing out on Friday due to suspension. This means Cook is in the all too rare position to have a full squad to choose from.
Bohemians go into their third game this season in the Showgrounds still looking for their first victory there. A draw and a loss without scoring a goal is a record Pat Fenlon will want to alter. The Bohs manager will be "looking for the same level of performance" from his team as they put in last week.
"We're quite capable of winning this tie. We just have to make sure we take our chances," he said.
As he was last Friday, Fenlon is without defenders Ken Oman and Owen Heary but midfielder Gary Deegan returns from suspension.
Extratime.ie Prediction:The romance of the Cup is alive and well in this prediction. 1-0 to Sligo.
