Daniel Kelly signs new four year deal with Carrick Rangers
Carrick Rangers have been handed a boost with the news that Daniel Kelly has committed his long term future to the club by signing a new four year contract.
Assuming a strong role at the club during their promotion push to return to the top division as well as last season’s 8th placed finish, the defensive midfielder will be looking to add to his 196 appearances at the club. Over his two spells with his current side he has also chipped in with 38 goals.
Kelly, speaking after signing on the dotted line, had never any doubt when the club came to him recently about extending his deal: “When the Club came to me about extending my contract it was just a case of where do I sign? Seeing the work that is going on behind the scenes makes it a really exciting time to be at the Club.
The foundations that have been put in place by the Peter, Niall, the management staff and the board give us, on the field, the chance achieve something special. The pitch, surrounding facilities and training areas are there to be seen by all.
It's not by luck we achieved the position we did in the league this year, it's down to the hard work of all the aforementioned and the players. Being a part of this progression and watching my hometown club develop is honour, I can't wait to see what the future holds”
His Manager Niall Currie was equally delighted to have one of his key men commit his long term future to the side.
“We're delighted that Daniel has made such a commitment. He's a local lad so he knows the importance we place on that. He has been a wonderful influence since the moment we re-signed him from Glentoran and has played a massive role in getting our Club back to the Premiership. We are all delighted with his commitment and look forward to the many years ahead”
