Republic of Ireland U17 goalkeeper Dan Rose signs for Schalke
Ireland U17 international Dan Rose has signed for Schalke after rejecting a new contract with his current club Everton.
Rose, currently 16, is English born but qualifies for Ireland through his mother with the goalkeeper impressing in Colin O’Brien’s sides wins over Andorra, Montenagro and Israel late last year.
Those wins qualified them for the u17 Elite stage with games against Slovenia, Scotland and the Czech Republic originally due to be played back in March.
That tournament will now not go ahead at all with Uefa taking the decision to cancel them completely due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Rose will therefore be hoping to make the step up to the Republic of Ireland u19 setup as he looks to further his international career.
