Latest round of Covid-19 tests on Bohemians players confirmed as negative
The FAI have confirmed that the latest round of Covid-19 tests carried out on Bohemians’ players and staff have all returned negative results.
This means that in the opening four rounds of tests on the four League of Ireland sides that are expecting to compete in Europe later this year, there has been zero positive results.
The next round of testing at Derry City, Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians is due to take place today with the results then expected later this week.
While Derry, Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk and Bohemians all resumed collective training earlier this month, the rest of the countries professional and amateur footballers had to wait until yesterday before being allowed to resume training, although with the continued restrictions on numbers.
League of Ireland fans, players and staff are all awaiting the results of further talks due to take place between the Premier Division sides and the Association on Wednesday with the hope that a deal can be hammered out which will allow for a date to be set for the return to competitive action.
