Latest round of Covid-19 test results are all negative ahead of return to training on June 8th
The FAI have announced that all tests conducted in the latest round of Covid-19 testing have returned negative.
The latest swabs were taken on Monday with the players and staff of Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians, Derry City and Dundalk undergoing the tests as they prepare to resume team training on Monday 8th June.
This continues the positive news brought on by the announcement that the first round had also returned all negative results and steers the way for a safe return to football ahead of the teams competing in a four team tournament expected to be held in the Aviva Stadium next month.
Yesterday, it emerged that Bohemians had begun small group training with a number of their players spotted training together in the Fr Collins Park, however, the club later clarified that they were adhering to the Government’s roadmap as of oppose to the FAI’s version.
The next round of tests are set to take place on June 8th for the League of Ireland four European representatives. The remaining clubs are set to resume training on June 29th while all other football in the country has been suspended until July 20th.
