St. Johnstone confirm McMillan departure
Former Dundalk striker David McMillan is looking for a new club after St. Johnstone announced he will be leaving at the end of the current season.
The 31-year old signed for the Scottish Premiership club in December 2017 and scored four goals in sixteen appearances for the Saints in between being loaned out to Hamilton Academicals and Falkirk.
McMillan’s exit, along with five other first team players, was confirmed on Monday evening with the club saying: “We’d like to thank all the players for their efforts during their time at St. Johnstone and we wish them every success in their futures.”
The former Irish under-21 international began his career with UCD in the League of Ireland in 2008 and won the A Championship and the First Division at the club.
His goals for Dundalk are the stuff of legend at Oriel Park with his efforts helping the Lilywhites to three League of Ireland titles, two EA Sports Cups, and one FAI Cup.
He also grabbed two goals against BATE Borisov for the club which helped them qualify for the play off round of the UEFA Champions League in 2016.
