EA Sports Cup Preview: Wexford -v- Bray Wanderers

WEXFORD

Wexford will look for revenge on Bray Wanderers on Tuesday night after Gary Cronin’s men beat them in the league two weeks ago (kick-off 7.45pm).

Wexford come into this first round tie on a somewhat positive note after they drew 0-0 with Galway United at home on Friday night.

Galway were keen on scoring from early on and thought that had happened in the first minute but much to their joy the goal was disallowed.

Fortunately for the home side, Enda Curran was judged to be offside as he volleyed into the Wexford net.

Wexford had chances to score through Conor Crowley, James Carroll and Cian Kavanagh but they couldn’t find a breakthrough.

And they were unable to make the man advantage count in the final few minutes as Galway had Shane Duggan sent off for a heavy tackle Craig Giles.

Malike Hill-Benrouguibi and Liam Berry remain out with injury for another few weeks but Brian O’Sullivan has an otherwise full squad to choose from.

BRAY WANDERERS

Bray return to action for the first time in 11 days after their away game against Longford Town on Saturday night was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

It’s two weeks since they were last in action, ironically against Wexford but in the league.

The Seagulls pulled off a 2-0 win that night with goals from Gary Shaw and youngster Andy Moran.

Moran put his name in the history books late on as he became Bray’s youngest-ever scorer at 16 years and 135 days.
