Week Six: Premier League Team News
Derry City
Derry will be without Darren Quigley (hand), Kevin Deery (knee), Mark McChrystal (foot), Sean Hargan (ankle) and Sammy Morrow (knee). Clive Delaney and Owen Morrison are due to complete fitness tests.
St Patricks Athletic
Jamie Harris is out having damaged his knee in Monday night’s Setanta Sports Cup match against Derry City. Barry Ryan is suspended so Brendan Clarke continues in goal; Joseph Ndo is not yet back to full fitness but both Michael Keane and Dessie Byrne return to the squad having recovered from recent injuries.
Bohemians
Fenlon has been given a welcome selection headache going into the game with the return of defender Ken Oman, who missed last week’s victory over Shamrock Rovers with flu, and Killian Brennan who is available again after missing the last three games through suspension. Long-term absentees Kevin Hunt (foot) and Thomas Heary (knee) remain sidelined.
Shamrock Rovers
Chris Mulhall is out with a cartilage injury, while long-term casualties Aidan Price and Padraig Amond remain sidelined but are both back training. Pat Flynn is suspended.
Drogheda United
Jason Gavin and Shane Barrett have recovered from injuries. Dan Connor and Declan O’Brien have resumed training so Drogheda United recent injury woes seem to be abating.
Cork City
Pat Sullivan is out as he serves a suspension carried over from last year, while Gareth Farrelly and Billy Woods will miss out through injury. Farrelly suffered a recurrence of a knee injury which will sideline him for a short while, while Woods is still recovering from an ankle injury in pre-season
Finn Harps
Harps boss Paul Hegarty had hoped to have Kevin Ramsey available again after the striker sat out last week's game against Bray Wanderers through suspension. However, the frontman picked up a foot injury in training during the week and is a definite non-starter. To make matters worst, Chris Breen is also a serious doubt having received an ankle knock in training at the start of the week. Breen partnered Conor Gethins in attack last weekend in the 1-0 defeat in Bray.
Hegarty is hoping to have Stephen Parkhouse back again after the former Derry City striker missed the last three games with a back problem. The club's fifth striker, Gary Beckett, has yet to play this season with knee ligament trouble.
Sligo Rovers
Sligo Rovers look forward to their game with table toppers Derry City without the services once again of Sean Doherty (knee) and Faz Kudozivic (ankle),although Alan Moore broke a finger in the warm up against Cobh last Saturday he his available for Friday nights game.
U.C.D
UCD's only doubt ahead of Friday's clash with Drogheda is Ian Bermingham. The defender missed last week's defeat to Cork City due to a groin problem and the Students are waiting to see how much he has recovered before deciding whether to play him on Friday.
Bray Wanderers
Andre Francesco Georgescu will miss Bray's meeting with Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Friday night with a continuing thigh strain. There are also doubts about Derek Pender (hamstring),Andy Myler (sprained ankle),and reserve 'keeper Gavin McInerney (knee). All will have late fitness tests with Myler and Pender expected to come through ok, however McInerney is a big doubt.
Cobh Ramblers
No team news yet.
Galway United
Caretaker Manager Billy Clery is facing some injury problems with John Russell suffering with a fractured hand and is ruled out for tomorrow. John Lester returned on Tuesday from suspension and marked it with a spectacular goal from 40 yards out; he is available for Friday. Derek Glynn also returned from injury on Tuesday after he replaced the injured Derek O'Brien (Hamstring) who is unlikely to feature against Cork. Ciaran Foley and Marc McCullock are struggling for tomorrow with Wes Charles (flu) and Stephen O'Flynn (Groin) also doubtful.
