Cork City players have this morning confirmed that an agreement has been made with owner Tom Coughlan over their ongoing pay problems.

Dan Murray, one of the players' spokesmen on the off-the-field issues which have dogged the club,, said: “We are pleased to have come to an agreement with the club regarding payment of wages. We can now focus all of our attention on finishing this season as high up the league table as we can and qualifying for Europe.”

A statement released by the club read: "While a number of clubs have sought to implement pay cuts, Cork City Football Club is determined to pay the players and staff all monies owed to them up to the end of the season. Cork City FC would like to thank the staff for their cooperation and their patience in this matter, and are delighted that we can now focus our attention on the remainder of our league campaign as we bid to qualify for Europe."

This follows supporters trust FORAS' withdrawing all volunteering towards the club as the heat continues to turn up on Coughlan. Also, there was a heated debate on local radio this morning between FORAS and Coughlan.
