Irish under-21 international Connor Ronan joins Blackpool on loan from Wolves
Republic of Ireland under-21 international midfielder Connor Ronan has joined English League One side Blackpool on loan until the end of season from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ronan had recently returned from a 12-month loan spell in Slovakia with Slovak Super League side DAC Dunajska Streda.
He made 33 appearances for the club, as they earned an impressive second placed finish last season, which qualified them for the Europa League.
Having progressed through Wolves academy set up, Ronan has appeared 14 times for the club’s first-team after making his debut in 2016 against Nottingham Forest.
This is the English born midfielder’s fourth spell on loan following successful periods at both Walsall and Portsmouth, and he is expected to make his debut for Blackpool against Lincoln City on Saturday.
“All in all, I just want to help the team wherever I can and try and help the team get back to where it belongs.”
And Blackpool boss Simon Grayson added; “Connor’s an exciting player and the type of player that we’ve been missing this season.
“A lot of people speak highly about him and he’s had some good experience out in Slovakia, as well as internationally for Ireland at under-21 level.
“We’re looking for him to get on the ball, pick a pass and add something different to the squad."
