Sean Roche signs up with Wexford for 2020 season
Wexford have announced that Sean Roche has re-signed for the 2020 season. During his debut season in 2019 he scored three goals in 16 appearances (including six starts) for the Youths.
This follows on from the news on Thursday that Karl Fitzsimons has also signed for the club for the upcoming 2020 campaign.
20-year-old Roche spoke to the club’s media team on his hopes for the upcoming season.
“For this year, personally I just want to continue to work hard,” said the striker. “There's a place up for grabs but there's plenty of healthy competition for attackers this year and everyone will be pushing themselves."
Roche will get a chance to make his case to first team boss Brian O’Sullivan for a bigger role in this year’s campaign when Wexford FC take on 2019 First Division champions Shelbourne FC on Saturday 11th January at the AUL Complex.
This will be their first pre-season friendly, with a second fixture confirmed against Waterford FC at IT Carlow on Saturday, 18th January.
