Waterford sign Vinny Sullivan
Waterford United have announced that they have completed the signing of striker Vinny Sullivan.
Sullivan returns to the RSC having last worn the blue shirt only last season. He first signed for Waterford in 2002 from Livingston in Scotland, and was an ever-present with the club up until the end of 2008, apart from one season with Cork City in 2006. He was the Blues' top goalscorer in his first, promotion winning, season, as indeed he was in both of his last two years with the club.
This year, he has concentrated on Gaelic Football until now, and has been fruitful in front of goal in a successful spell at his home club Dungarvan.
With the Blues light on options up front after the long-term injury to David Grincell, the signing is timely, and manager Stephen Henderson is excited by the acquisition: "I'm delighted to have him on board. Vinny has a proven track record of getting goals in the League of Ireland, and he will be a great addition to us up front."
The deal runs until the end of the current season, and he is expected to go straight into the squad for the Sporting Fingal game on Saturday.
