League Report: Waterford 1 - 2 Bohemians

Michael Barker's 93rd-minute winner snatched all three points for Bohemians as they beat Waterford 2-1 at the RSC on Friday night.

A Rory Feely own goal had given visitors Bohemians the lead before Barker put through his own net to equalise. But it was Barker that struck a late winner.

Waterford were first to threaten but neither Shane Duggan and Bastien Hery could find the net with early opportunities.

For the visitors, Danny Mandroiu had two chances in 60 seconds minute; Matthew Connor saving his first strike before his long-range effort hit the top of the crossbar.

Waterford had strong appeals for a penalty turned down after a handball before Keith Long’s team took the lead. Danny Mandroiu and Conor Levingston linked up on the edge of the penalty area before playing Luke Wade Slater in down the right and his shot struck Rory Feely on its way to the back of the net for the opener.

But the Blues levelled 15 minutes after falling behind. Rory Feely made ground down the right and his dangerous cross struck Bohs defender Michael Barker and found the bottom corner with striker Dean Walsh looking to score.

John Martin’s driven cross found Walsh on the stroke of half time but Bohs 'keeper Talbot made a good low save as the sides went in 1-1 at the break.

The first real chance of the second half fell to Waterford’s Walsh but he fired wide, before Gypsies goalkeeper Talbot saved well from Feely’s good run.

Keith Buckley headed over Connor’s crossbar from Paddy Kirk’s cross before Cory Galvin couldn’t beat Talbot.

And it was Bohemians who grabbed a late winner as Danny Mandroiu’s low corner found the run of defender Barker and he fired into the bottom corner to grab all three points.
