Jamie Hollywood makes his movie away from Longford Town
Midfielder Jamie Hollywood has confirmed that he has cut short his spell with Longford Town via mutual consent.
The former Bohemians youngster departs the midlands club on the back of 19 appearances and two goals in 18 months for Neale Fenn’s side.
The Irish Colleges and Universities international began his career with the Gypsies, his debut coming against Dundee United in 2014.
The 21-year-old was unable to make the grade at Dalymount Park however, and soon found himself joining Drogheda United ahead of the 2017 campaign.
Whilst at the Boynesiders, Hollywood made seven appearances for Pete Mahon’s side, who were unable to stave off the drop, before joining Longford.
The Dubliner struggled for form and appearances in his last few months at City Calling Stadium with injuries putting pay to any hope the youngster had in nailing down a starting position.
His most recent, and final appearance for De Town came in the nerve-shredding 1-0 win over Wexford prior to the mid-season break.
After strenuous thought, I’ve decided to part ways with @LongfordTownFC , a decision I did not make lightly as I have really enjoyed the past 2 seasons. I wish the lads the very best and want to say a big thank you to the fans and everyone else that runs this special club??#LTFCpic.twitter.com/iUH1Q8WkPE
