Inchicore set for live TV coverage on May 31st
With a number of fixtures having to be rearranged because of Under-21 international call-ups, the St. Patrick’s Athletic v. Cork City SSE Airtricity League Premier Division meeting on May 31st has been selected for live television coverage.
Waterford’s game with Shamrock Rovers was originally penciled in for live coverage but with that game off the bosses at Montrose have selected Inchicore as their replacement venue. The game will kick-off at 7.45 pm as the Saints will take on John Cotter’s Cork City.
St. Pat’s and Cork City currently sit in mid-table and will both view this televised encounter as an ideal opportunity to boost their hopes of European qualification.
The Saints and the Leesiders have already faced–off twice in the league this season.
A Mikey Drennan penalty settled the sides’ last match at Richmond Park on the opening night of the 2019 season.
City thought they had their revenge in the reverse fixture at Turner’s Cross in April having led ten-man Pat’s for much of the game with a Graham Cummins spot kick.
But Dean Clarke pounced on a last minute defensive lapse to plunder a point for the Dublin side.
