Shelbourne -v- Finn Harps

Shelbourne welcome Finn Harps to Tolka Park on Friday night (kick-off 20:00) as both teams look to make up for dropped points in their last league outings. Shelbourne were two nil up against Athlone last week, but after Damien Brennan was red carded they allowed the Midlanders in twice to return to Dublin with only a point. Waterford was the destination for Harps on Tuesday night in a rescheduled clash, and they were hit for four with reply.

Surprisingly, this is the first meeting between the two sides this season, as the earlier season fixture at Finn Park was postponed. The match is the first between the two sides in the space of a fortnight, as Shels visit Harps on Saturday 15th August.

Dermot Keely goes into this game having to plan without the suspended Damien Brennan. He will also be without the injured defensive trio of Stephen Quigley (back Injury), Kevin Doherty (calf) and Alan Keely (hip).

Into the reckoning come two new signings Robert Douglas (signed from Crumlin United) and Ray Scully (formerly of Waterford United, Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Kildare County, Dublin City & Shelbourne).

Finn Harps Manager James Gallagher has a problem in the centre of his defence for Friday’s trip. Packie Mailey, who was sent off in the midweek defeat in Waterford, sits out the through suspension while Johnny Havlin is still injured. That means Shaun McGowan will drop back from midfield to partner Seamus Sharkey in an untried partnership. Sean Houston (back) misses out again as does long term absentee Conor Gethins. Christy Conaghan, who has missed the last three games, could return.

Extratime.ie Prediction: Shels to be too strong for the Donegal side. 2-0.
