Cork fixture to go ahead as Sullivan exits

As scheduled, Cork City’s game against Bray Wanderers on Friday night will definitely go ahead. That is according to PFAI boss, Stephen McGuinness.

He met with Tom Coughlan and players this morning and the game will now be looked at by them as an exit trial to impress scouts from other clubs.

Head of the players association, McGuinness, also confirmed that all players are now on the transfer list, while they’ve agreed to defer their wages for another week. It means that Coughlan can now offer the Revenue Commissioners another €120,000 on Friday.

He has also met with Fran Gavin of the FAI to discuss the possibility of extending the transfer window so Cork players can find new clubs after Friday’s ruling.

Meanwhile, Pat Sullivan has become the latest player to leave the club. The Dubliner will sign a deal with either Drogheda United or Shamrock Rovers later today.
