Darren Meenan makes move to Athlone Town

Athlone Town continue their preparation for the 2019 season with confirmation that Darren Meenan is their latest signing for the upcoming First Division campaign.

This follows on from the news that Ronan Manning, Kealan Dillon and Gareth McCaffrey have also signed for The Town for the 2019 season.      

Darren is an experienced League of Ireland campaigner having had spells with Finn Harps, Monaghan, UCD, Shelbourne, Sligo Rovers, Drogheda, St Pats, Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and Longford Town. 

His time at Dundalk is where he enjoyed his most success being part of the team that won the league in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and an FAI Cup in 2015.

His decision to sign for the Athlone will provide first team boss Terry Butler with a valuable and versatile player.
