Neil Doyle to referee the FAI Cup final

Referee Neil Doyle will take charge of the 2018 FAI Cup final between holders Cork City and ten-times-winners Dundalk on Sunday, November 4th.

It will be Dubliner Doyle's second charge taking charge of the FAI's showpiece event after he oversaw the 2012 Cup final, in which Derry City overcame St Patrick's Athletic 3-2 after extra time.

The highly-rated schoolteacher Doyle, 40, has been on the national league panel since 2001 and was promoted to the international panel in 2011.

He has gone on to referee World Cup qualifiers in the years since, most recently taking charge of the World Cup 2018 qualifier between Belgium and Gibraltar in August of last year.

Mark Gavin will be assisted on the sidelines by Mark Gavin and Declan Toland, while Rob Rogers will be fourth official, who oversaw the 2016 final between the same sides.

Additional assistants will be Rob Harvey and Damien McGraith, while Darragh Keegan will act as reserve assistant referee.

Last year's cup final was officiated by Paul McLaughlin, who oversaw a 1-1 draw after extra time before Cork City prevailed on penalties.
