Preview: Bray Wanderers vs Finn Harps
Bray Wanderers take on Finn Harps at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night in what has been billed as a relegation battle. Bray are bottom of the table with one point and they are still without a goal after last weekend's 3-0 defeat by St. Patrick's Athletic. Finn Harps have six points from four games but they have lost both their away games so far this season against Derry City and Bohemians.
For Bray Wanderers, Gary McCabe returns from suspension following a one-match ban. Andrei Georgescu will miss this fixture with a thigh strain which he suffered last week against Pats. Colm Tresson is in line to return to the starting line-up after sitting on the bench last time out. Ger Rowe, Kevin Doherty and Derek Foran all face fitness tests before Friday’s clash.
Speaking on Bray’s poor recent form, manager Eddie Gormley stated: “If we can get the first goal you will see a different team, so I hope we can get the first goal on Friday night".
For the visitors, Tony Shields, Gary Beckett and Stephen Parkhouse are all in line for a return to first team action. Aaron Labonte is doubtful after picking up a knock against Bohemians last week. Kevin Ramsey is suspended for Harps after being sent off against Bohs last Friday.
Going into Friday’s clash, Harps manager Paul Hegarty said: “It's going to be a tough game. Bray will look at the game as being winnable and we're looking at it in the same way. Hopefully we get a wee rub of the green this time."
