WNL League Cup Final to take place in Ferrycarrig Park
Wexford Youths will have home advantage in the Continental Tyres WNL Cup final after the draw was made this week.
2017 WNL champions Wexford Youths face Peamount United in the decider, which is scheduled for Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday 15thSeptember. Kick-off time is to be announced for the clash, which brings together the top two from last year’s Women’s National League.
Peamount United, former two-time winners of the Continental Tyres WNL League Cup, will be hoping to go one better this year, having lost the 2017 final to Shelbourne Ladies.
Wexford Youths are currently top of the Continental Tyres WNL table while Peamount sit in third place.
Peamount United secured their place in the 15thSeptember showdown by beating UCD Waves 3-0 in the semi-final, having exacted revenge over Shelbourne, after extra-time, in the last eight.
Wexford Youths plundered an impressive 2-1 win away to Cork City in the quarter-finals before defeating Galway Womens F.C. 2-1 in last month’s semi-final.
