Waterford United’s crucial clash with Finn Harps tonight has been called off due to the heavy rain which has fallen on the city relentlessly since morning. Likewise Athlone Town's game with Longford Town has been postponed due to the inclement weather.
The Blues will miss the opportunity to make up ground on title-rivals UCD, who lost last night to league-leaders Shelbourne. Waterford’s next game now will be the visit of Roy Keane’s Ipswich Town on Friday. The game scheduled for tonight will now be rearranged but as of yet a new date has not been set.
