Former captain Craig Roddan leaves Sligo Rovers by mutual consent

Sligo Rovers have announced that former captain Craig Roddan has left the club by mutual consent.
The former Liverpool trainee began the season as Gerard Lyttle's first-choice in midfield but has been out of favour since the 2-0 defeat to Dundalk last month.
Roddan didn't featured in the matchday squads for the subsequent league defeats to Shamrock Rovers and Derry, nor was he included for the EA Sports Cup win over Galway United.
The Bit o' Red announced the 24-year-old's departure in a terse statement on their website on Thursday afternoon.
The statement read: “Sligo Rovers wish to confirm that Craig Roddan has departed the Bit O’ Red by mutual consent.
“We thank Craig for his service for over two seasons with the club and wish him well in the future.”
Roddan joined Sligo ahead of the 2016 season from Northern Premier League side Witton Albion in the eighth tier of the English league system.
The Liverpudlian impressed enough to earn a two-year contract extension towards the end of the same season, in which he was also made club captain.
