Ex Shels star Geoghegan turns to management

Whitehall Rangers AFC unveiled their new management team for 2009/2010 on Tuesday 23rd June at a press call at The Beaumont House. The event was attended by the president of the FAI, Mr. David Blood & Leinster Senior League representative Mr. Ken Boylan.

Ex-Shelbourne F.C. star and league of Ireland legend, Stephen Geoghegan will be taking over as 1st team manager, while Stephen Caswell will be taking up the role of manager for the 2nd team, after playing with the club for the previous 8 years.

A Press Release from Whitehall Rangers read, "Whitehall Rangers AFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Geoghegan as Manager/Coach for the Season 2009/2010. Stephen arrives at the club following a very successful playing career with Shelbourne. He cut his teeth in management with his local club WFTA, where he was very successful, including winning the Leinster Junior Cup in 2008."

On joining Whitehall, Stephen had this to say; "I am delighted to be joining a club, of the stature of Whitehall Rangers. By their own high standards, they have had a lean time so far in this decade, so I’m looking forward to the challenge of restoring this great club to former glories."

Mr. David Blood, President of the FAI congratulated Whitehall on the appointment and wished the management team well in their adventures over the coming season. Leinster Senior League chairman, Mr. Tom Hand sent his congratulations to Whitehall on the appointment and wished Stephen every success in his new role.
