Derry City part company with defender Armin Aganovic
Derry City have confirmed that they have parted company with Swedish defender Armin Aganovic by mutual consent.
The Swede only made two appearances for the Candystripes losing both matches. Armin scored in his debut away at Waterford while his final appearance came in a disheartening loss away at Sligo Rovers.
Derry boss Kenny Shields told the Derry Journal that Armin failed to meet the ‘huge demands’ expected from the players of Derry City Football Club.
Aganovic arrived at the beginning of the season on a free transfer from Raufoss IL who play in the third tier of the Norwegian league.
The 23- year-old was well known to Galway United supporters as he represented ‘The Tribesmen’ over the 2016 season.
Despite Armin’s departure the Brandywell men are not short of options at centre back with the emergence of Eoin Toal.
City begin a busy few days against St Patrick’s Athletic at the Brandywell on Friday night before taking on Finn Harps in Ballybofey on Monday afternoon in the EA Sports Cup (see full draw here).
