Limerick FC -v- Shelbourne
Limerick FC host high-flying Shelbourne at Jackman Park on Friday (Kick-off 7:45pm).
Both sides look to bounce back from their exits from the FAI Ford Cup last week. A resilient Limerick side were narrowly between by their Premier Division opposition St. Patrick’s Athletic at Jackman Park.
Shelbourne were taken to a replay by Dublin side Crumlin United and Dermot Keely’s were knocked out on Monday at Tolka Park.
Pat Scully, who lost his first game in charge of Limerick FC on March 27 to Shelbourne (0-1) at Tolka Park, hopes that Thomas Lyons, Brian O'Callaghan, Jamie Wunsch and Jason Hughes can shake off minor knocks before Friday's game.
“There were a few reports in the papers on Friday morning regarding the financial situation," added Pat Scully, "but that didn't affect us against St. Pat's in the cup game.”
"It's not an issue as far as we are concerned. No one is owed anything, we've a job to do and we will go out and do it. With all the rumours going around it would be nice for people to come out and support the lads.
"It's important that we row in together and present a united front. “
"I think that would give everyone in the club a great lift."
Team News
Limerick are without captain Pat Purcell who remains out with a knock he picked up against U.C.D. Thomas Lyons, Brian O'Callaghan, Jamie Wunsch and Jason Hughes all face late fitness tests after picking up minor knocks in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Dermot Keely does not have any new injuries or suspensions to worry about leading up to Friday’s vital clash with Limerick FC.
Extratime.ie Prediction: A close encounter between two resilient, well organised sides. A score draw is the most likely outcome. 1-1.
