Derek Crowe Memorial 6-A-Side Soccer League 2009

The annual Derek Crowe Memorial 6-A-Side soccer league, in memory of the former Mervue and Galway player, will take place on the 11th & 12th of July in Mervue. This will be the 14th year of the very popular competition which has grown since the first tournament in 1996 to be the second biggest in Connacht with sixty-four teams participating for the past five years.
This year’s competition will be sponsored once again by Better Bedding and the competition will once again be strictly limited to the first 64 teams only. Entry Fee is €80 per team. Teams are already registering fast and anyone intending on entering are reminded to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment, as teams will be accepted on a first in basis.
Entry forms for the tournament are currently available from the Mervue Utd Clubhouse, Fahy’s Field, Sportskit (Mike Buckley) and Great Outdoors or by phoning Terry Flaherty at 087 – 6738573 or Peter Fealy at 087 - 2318343.
Teams can also enter online by e-mailing their entry to terryfla@live.ie The closing date for entries is Monday the 29th June.
