Low squad requires point for high of World Cup qualification
German manager Joachim Low will bring a 22 man squad to Belfast this week to take on Northern Ireland. The World Champions – who have won all eight qualifiers – require just a point to secure qualification for next summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Low will have to do without Leipzig striker Timo Werner who was ruled out due to injury over the weekend and the German boss has decided not to call up a replacement.

Both Jerome Boateng and Leroy Sane return to the squad after missing recent qualifiers. The squad contains 17 of the 23 players who were part of the Confederations Cup winning squad from Russia earlier this year.
The German squad are missing some high profile players due to injury. There is no place for midfielders Mesut Ozil, Mario Gotze, Sami Khedira, defender Jonas Hector and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will continue in goal for Die Mannschaft. ter Stegen kept a clean sheet in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Las Palmes which was played behind closed doors in the Camp Nou following violence that flared following the attempted suppression of the Catalan independence vote.
