Ticket news for travelling Ireland fans for Cardiff clash
The FAI received over 9,000 applications for the 3,500 away tickets they have been allocated for next month’s clash in Cardiff between the Republic of Ireland and Wales.
Ticket applicants will find out by next Tuesday if their application has been succesful for the match which will be played at the 33,280 capacity Cardiff City Stadium.
In a press release issued on Thursday evening the FAI stated that the association “are working hard to ensure that the most loyal Republic of Ireland supporters who applied for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Round game against Wales in Cardiff are catered for.”
Ahead of the final Group D qualifier for Russia 2018, the FAI’s ticketing department are undertaking “an extensive process of cross-checking attendance records of each person who has applied for tickets so that regular attendees at away fixtures are catered for along with the Football Family, Supporters Clubs and Fans' Direct.”
