APPEARANCES
11 players are currently left on the ever-present list. There are six 'keepers (Dan Connor, Brian Murphy, Barry Ryan, Gary Rogers, Richard Brush, Chris O'Connor), four defenders (Shane Guthrie, Dan Murray, Gavin Peers, Dane Massey), and a single midfielder (Colin Healy). Galway United's Iarfhlaith Davoren would be part of this group but for the broken nose that forced him off against Drogheda United, his only absence so far.
Tadgh Purcell has continued his run of substitute appearances for Shamrock Rovers. With no League starts to his name, the number 22 has been introduced on 14 occasions.
On the other side of things, Paul Byrne, Mark Farren, Graham Carey, and Glen Crown have all been taken off on 8 occasions.
Below is a table showing the number of players each club has used to date:
GOALSCORERS
Well we might as well just forget about the rest and just concentrate on the Byrne v Twigg duel that is unfolding week-by-week. Byrne's fourth penalty at the death against Galway United keeps him on level terms with Twigg, who notched his third brace of the season at Tallaght Stadium. Coincidentally, both strikers have spread their goals identically, with 9 at home and 4 away.
Byrne has scored his goals in a shorter space of time on the pitch, as he missed Bohs opening win over Dundalk and has twice come on as a substitute in the early rounds as Pat Fenlon searched for his best formation. It is notable, though, that since the Round 6 win over Galway he has started every game and only been taken off in the closing stages of two games since then. Twigg has started every game and been subbed six times.
