Former Republic of Ireland star Frank Stapleton will be the guest of honour at the FAI Ford Cup Third Round draw, which will take place tonight at the Burlington Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

The ex-Manchester United striker will assist FAI President David Blood in conducting the draw for the Third Round, the stage at which clubs from the League of Ireland join the competition.

Extratime.ie will be bringing you the draw live, while there will also be reaction and interviews later tonight.

There are 33 teams still in with a chance of lifting the cup on the 22nd of November and the third round will see the 22 LoI teams entering into the Senior Cup.

9 non-league sides have already booked their place in the third round. Arklow Town, Bluebell United , Blarney United, Carrigaline United, Cherry Orchard, Crumlin United, Mayfield United, Salthill United and Tralee Dynamos will all be looking for a big tie, while the winners of Ballymun and Fanad United will also be looking anxiously at the draw.

The two main surprises of the second round came in Cork, where Mayfield United, champions of the Munster Senior League First Division, beat Castlebar Celtic 3-2, while Carrigaline United, who were relegated to the third tier of the MSL earlier this month, defeated Cobh Ramblers 2-1.

A great draw for Mayfield United, travelling to Dalymount to face the holders. There is a huge incentive for Ballymun and Fanad who meet in a replay, as the winners will face Derry City. The [ick of the ties will surely be the Premier Division clashes between Cork and Sligo, as well as Shamrock Rovers v Drogheda.

All games will be played on the weekend ending the 14th of June and extratime.ie will be covering all angles for you.
